The Aigner family, descendants of Otto Aigner, visited the library in April, 2001. The older gentleman is
the youngest brother of "Otto Aigner", the one whom our library building
is named after. It was, I believe, his 80th birthday present, visiting
the various sites that the family had either worked and/or lived at.
The family picture, left to right, Bertha Mann, local member of the
family (niece of the elder gentleman), Brenda Aigner, Stephen L. Aigner
(son of the elder) in the back, Jonathan, grandson, Garret Herbert
Aigner, and his wife Joyce.
The picture of the two, is Bertha Mann and Mr. Aigner.
Mr. & Mrs. Garret Aigner live in Leona, Texas.
Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Aigner and family are from Friendswood, Texas.
They visited for about two hours and were very enthused with the
information we had on the Aigner family, provided by Mrs. Mann and
compiled by Mrs. Wiggins. They, both Aigners, joined as supporting
members on the spot.
Bertha Mann, daughter of Otto Aigner, made a significant donation for the initial startup of the ACGSL library. Her Aunt, sister to Otto Aigner, also gave a substantial donation. Without their help, the library startup could not have been accomplished. Mr. Aigner's sister still lives in Poteet.
