Comments about the web site: Searching for the Tilbury name history. We think John Van Tilbury was close to the head of government in either England or Holland. He came under suspicion and was smuggled aboard ship to America in a sugar hogshead. He landed in one of the German settlements in New Jersey. In 1775/76 he moved to Luzerne Co, PA. He had two sons, Abraham and Henry. Looking for proof of John and Henry.

Comments about the web site: I asked for Atascosa county and bingo I found you. What a delight. I do hope I can find some answers. I spent several years with my grandparents John W. and Delia M. Jenkins in Mccoy Texas in the mid 40's. I have many fond memories of that little spot. I would be delighted to discover anyone who can tell me more about the fathers of these grandparents. His father was Wilfred Monroe Jenkins and her father was John Guthrie and I draw blanks from there. Wilfred's spouse was Susan Ellen Bolgiano and John Guthrie's spouse was Mary Ann Christmus. I would really like to find out more about each if that is possible. I am currently writing an inspirational book on my experiences there and later, also one on my parents and their rare love story. I hope to share these with my children and let them know what interesting ancestors we had, the varied backgrounds, the incredible odds they faced with courage and faith and a true sense of family. Thank you for the opportunity to share with you. Some of the Rileys and McWorters that still live in the neighborhood are all kinfolks. Joan L. Gresham

Comments about the web site: I'm sorry I don't have a home page. How do I post a question? Your e-mail isn't working. I'm trying to find information on Robert Bell. He was wanted for murder in Comanchie Texas. As far as I know it was called a massacur. Some were between the late 1870's to 1885. He was never caught. He claimed it was men who had robbed him and left him for dead. When he came across them later he killed all of them. My uncle went to Comanchie in the 60's to try and find out what happened. Grandfather had always told his father if he ever went he'd never come back. Uncle found an old timer sitting on a benchand decided this would be a good place to start. The old timer told him the best thing he could do was shut up and get on out of town. So he left. I don't know if your site can help me or not. If not maybe you can put me into contact with someone who can. Thankyou Brenda brenda3129@aol.com

Comments about the web site: Arcadia Publishing is currently seeking qualified writers and historians to join with us in an exciting publishing venture to document America's epic story. You may already be familiar with Images of America, our pictorial history series, but Making of America is a new narrative-based series, focusing on the history of towns and cities, and their dynamic uniqueness, across the nation. The idea behind Making of America is to map, town by town, city by city, the entire country, creating a quilt of stories to unite the nation. We have only two not yet published Making of America books out of Tennessee and we'd like to see that list grow. Books in this series contain a comprehensive, chronological history of a community's development over the centuries, highlighting major events that had an impact on its citizens and landscape. The narrative consists of roughly 45,000 to 55,000 words and is accompanied by an average of 120 historically relevant images (photographs, postcards, sketches, maps, etc.). Each town holds a unique fragment of United States history; we strive to capture these moments in time for everyone to enjoy in a highly readable and visual way. If you are interested in this new publishing opportunity from Arcadia Publishing or know someone who might be, please contact me at swilliams@arcadiapublishing.com to request a basic information packet. We look forward to hearing from you.

Comments about the web site: I am Ruth Trevathan Delvige, president of the Angelina County Genealogical Society. We meet in the Kurth Memorial Library. I have been searching for past masters of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge, using my genealogical experience, to find survivors of deceased past masters. With this information we are in hopes of finding pictures to put on the walls of the newly built lodge. Already installed on the wall is about 100 or more pictures. We lacked 5 until I found out Mr. William Hendrickson Everitt died and was buried in Atascosa County, Texas. So I checked to see if there was a Genealogical Society for that county. Was there ever. Your web page is something else. WOW!! I was amazed. I put the information in your query section, and last night a very lovely lady Ladell Wiggins called me and said she would send me a picture of Mr. Everitt. What a lady! So kind and helpful. It just made my day. Now, we only lack four pictures. I was beginning to lose hope, but maybe not, if I luck on someone else as kind as your Ladell. Mr. James Downing, has to be a very talented person to develop such a great web site. I plan to use it often. Thanks, Ruth Delvige rudel@lcc.net

Comments about the web site: Great page. I am researching Miller, Johnson, Byrom, Caughfield, Lott, Stevens and related families who settled in the Sommerset area between 1850 and 1860. Many are still in Old Rock Church Cemetery

Comments about the web site: There is only one heir left to carry the Purgason name on. My father, Edsel Purgason is deceased and never knew his father McCoy Purgason. The senior Mr.Purgason supposedly left North Carolina for California a few months prior my fathers birth. Can anyone help me find my people?

Comments about the web site: What a great site. I am researching both sides of my family, who have a rich heritage in the Poteet and Pleasanton area. My grandfather, Charles Bruce Myers, was Postmaster of Poteet in the 1950's. My father, Woodrow (Woody) Myers was a rural carrier in Poteet for over a quarter century. My mother, Doris Myers, was a Churchill. My granfather, Joseph B. (Bennie) Churchill, was in produce for many years in Pleasanton. If anyone knew my family, I would love to hear from you and have you share anything that you might know about our history.

Comments about the web site: I'm a 69 year old sixth generation South Texan with roots deep in this Hill Country Limestone and South Texas Sand and a Deep and Abiding Love for Our Wee Bit of Heaven. As I enter the winter of my life I've this indescribable need to write a story about my life here in South Texas but I know that my efforts will fall far short of what's necessary to complete this story because I'm but a small part of this story. Methinks there are countless untold stories of South Texas that when properly combined in a selfless manner will produce a grand story far more important than any individual story that is a part of the whole story. Anyone interested in this writing story can contact me at AC210/737-9132 or write 455 E. Sunshine Dr. #317 San Antonio, Texas 78228. Or email: flacokelley@earthlink.net. Michael 'Flaco' Kelley

Comments about the web site: Howdy, y'all! Tryin' to figger out when Morgan B. Bailey and his wife Ida Weaver Bailey showed up in Christine. Got 'em there in the 1920 census with a passel of kids...one of 'em, Samuel Rush was my grand-dad. My dad, Sylvester Rush was born there in Christine in 1922. My aunt Frances in 1924. Lotsa family tales regarding the Baileys in Christine Texas have been lost...I have a few of 'em if anyone is interested.
